New Town Residence - First Floor
I began working with the owners of this beautiful new home back in March of 2015. The hole for their new house wasn't even dug yet, but we started working through the architect's plans and brainstorming design ideas for their new home. This is what's beautiful about working with Fuchsia Design. The 8' doors you see throughout their first level? They're there because I assured the client that standard height doors would feel out of proportion and 8' doors would be well worth their investment. The unique tray ceilings in music room and the master? They're there because we worked them into the engineered trusses. The unique exterior finishes on the house? Fuchsia Design selected all of the colors you see (with client feedback, of course!). The electrical throughout the house? We did the electrical plan. The extra high rainhead to accommodate the extra tall client? There's a plumbing diagram on my computer for that. The wall mount nightstands in the guest bedroom (you'll see those in the next blog post showing the lower level!)? We planned for extra backing behind the drywall. The built in shoe storage in the mudroom? We altered the size of the adjacent closet to accurately fit two side by side shoe trays and maximize space in the closet. Fuchsia Design isn't just a design company that comes in and selects colors and finishes. We work with our clients throughout the entire process of building their home, and most importantly - we get to know exactly who our client is and how they plan to LIVE in their home, so we can create a space that is perfect for their lifestyle. Just last week, I got an email from this client saying how much she loves her new home. I live for those emails. Enjoy the photos of this bright and cheery contemporary home!
I'm so grateful to these clients for the faith they put in me on their new home. There's a few last details we are working on in the lower level, but I can't wait to show you the spaces down there when they're complete. Spoiler alert - there's SWINGS in the tv room!
