SCHEDULES & SPECIFICATIONS
—-INTERIOR & EXTERIOR——
SPECIFICATION: A specification is merely a list of details about a material or product, so the builder knows what to order and how to install it.
SCHEDULE: Interestingly enough, in this case, a ‘Schedule’ isn’t referring to a timeline. It a word used to describe a spreadsheet with a whole list of specifications. For example, you might have a paint schedule that lists every single paint color specification in your home. In any given project, there are A LOT of schedules. Here’s a list of the schedules made for one single project:
LET’S BREAK IT DOWN
For paint and stain, the schedule might have columns like Brand, Name, Item Number, Sheen, Surface it Gets Applied To, and a Special Notes category. At Fuchsia Design, we also assign each individual color with a ‘MARK’. P1, P2, P3, P4. Then, we correlate those to a floor plan where we highlight where each color goes. All of these details are essential to ensuring your home is built just how you want it.
*You can see the far left column is titled ‘Mark’. This is what correlates with colors on the Paint Diagram.
And - this is JUST the paint and stain in the home. You can expect this level of detail for every specification for every material and detail of your project. That’s the Fuchsia way!
